Covid-19 Policy

We are pleased to welcome back students back to in-person classes here at the studio. Our staff has been working diligently to implement health procedures to be able to offer the safest environment for all.

We are closely monitoring policy changes and public health organizations and will continue to make changes as necessary. The plan below presents our best efforts to keep our dancers, families, and staff safe. (Updated as of 8/11/20)

FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS

  • Any student, staff member, or parent that has flu-like symptoms, any symptom of COVID-19 within the past 10 days, or have had close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days, or have traveled outside of MI on public transportation in the past 14 days, we ask that you please not attend class or enter the studio.

FACE COVERINGS

  • All staff and dancers over the age of 2 are required to wear a face covering or a mask when inside the studio. Parents or guardians in line waiting to pick up dancers after class must wear a face covering as well.

TEMPERATURE CHECKS

  • Staff and dancers will receive temperature checks every day.

LOBBY IS CLOSED

  • Our lobby will be closed to limit the number of people in our building. However, in case of our Twinkle 2-3 and Twinkle 3-4 dancers, one parent wearing a face covering or mask will be required to accompany their child and maintain social distancing to class.

LIMITING DANCER CAPACITY

  • Our class size limits will be set by allowing for at least 6 feet of distance between students at all times. Each student will have an assigned square, AKA “Sparkle Space”, and/or a spot on the floor and at the barre which will help to give dancers the optimal amount of space to continue practicing social distancing.

DANCER BELONGINGS

  • Please arrive dressed and ready for class. Each dancer will have a designated area for their belongings. Dance shoes can be changed into from our lobby, chairs set 6ft apart.

CLASS END TIMES

  • Classes will end 5 minutes early to allow for our staff to sanitize the studio properly. Dancers will exit the building out of the Studio A door. A deep clean of the studio will be done daily when we are closed to ensure In Motion Dance Center is in compliance with all CDC protocols.

STUDIO CLEANLINESS & SANITATION

  • Following all CDC Guidance for cleaning and disinfecting, each studio will be cleaned and dance equipment and props will be disinfected between each use. Staff will frequently clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces (e.g., door handles), common areas (e.g., restrooms, waiting rooms), and equipment at a minimum every 2 hours while the facility is open and in operation. H13 HEPA Air purifiers are located in all studios. All cleaning materials are EPA-approved disinfectants against COVID-19 per CDC guidelines.

HAND CLEANING & WASHING

  • Hand sanitizer stations are at the entrance of the building and inside each studio. You will be required to cleanse your hands upon arrival. Staff and dancers should wash their hands regularly. The CDC recommends this as one of the best practices to avoid transmission of the virus.

RESTROOMS

  • To minimize usage, encourage dancers to use the restroom prior to class at home. We will have one designated restroom per studio and will sanitize it regularly.
